Heritage BBQ + Catering Brand

Bradley's Barbecue

Bradley's has been Pittsburgh's barbecue + catering institution since 1943, when Christina and John Bradley started the business as the War Cafeteria at Sewickley Presbyterian Church. SiteSparx rebuilt the public-facing site from the ground up — a polished React SPA covering the brand story, a six-package catering menu, and a custom event-estimator tool — and shipped it inside the existing WordPress install so the family-owned domain (and a decade of accumulated SEO equity) stayed intact.

The Challenge

The client was locked out of the original domain registration — it had been created more than a decade earlier by a third party who could no longer be reached. Migrating to a new domain would have torched years of organic ranking and brand recognition built around bradleysbarbecue.com. The site itself also needed a complete refresh: a heritage editorial brand story, a clear six-tier catering menu, and a way to turn quote shoppers into bookings without forcing the client to manage another back-office tool.

Our Approach

We shipped a ground-up React + Vite + Tailwind SPA — bundled and uploaded into the existing WordPress theme so the original domain stayed live throughout the cutover. The brand story leans editorial: founder polaroid treatment, the 1943 War Cafeteria origin, and Christina Bradley's motto woven through the About page. The Menu page surfaces six catering packages with clear weekday/weekend minimums, and the custom Estimate Your Event tool runs entirely in-browser — guests pick a day, slide a headcount, choose a package and extras, and get a live total with tax and gratuity rolled in. The whole thing routes to a single phone CTA so the client never has to manage an inbox.
