Virtual Airline Crew Center

Skybus Virtual — Pathfinder

Skybus Virtual is a virtual airline (flight simulation group) operating an all-Airbus fleet across 142 daily flights in North America. SiteSparx built the internal Pathfinder crew center — the authenticated platform pilots use to manage their careers. The public marketing site at skybusva.com was built separately by another team.

Pathfinder pilot login
Dark, aviation-grade authentication screen. Pilots sign in with email or pilot ID; accounts can also register or link via external auth.
Skybus Virtual — Pathfinder — Pilot profile
Pilot profile
Career profile showing rank (Captain), home airport, VATSIM integration, biography, pilot fatigue gauge, total flights and hours, current balance, and transferred hours.
Skybus Virtual — Pathfinder — Aircraft detail + maintenance
Aircraft detail + maintenance
Individual aircraft page with ICAO/IATA type, base, fuel on board, and a maintenance panel tracking A-check / B-check / C-check cycles with remaining hours, cycle counts, and last-check dates. Also surfaces every flight report filed for that tail number.
Skybus Virtual — Pathfinder — PIREP filing & route map
PIREP filing & route map
Post-flight pilot report with route-map overlay, ACARS-sourced telemetry (landing rate, block/used/remaining fuel, flight start/end times, duty time), and tab navigation across route, analytics, PIREP fields, flight log, and finance.

Internal crew center (Pathfinder) built on phpVMS / Laravel / MySQL — public marketing site by a separate team
Outcome Goals
Centralized operations platform for 142 daily flights
Live weather and NAS monitoring built into the pilot dashboard
VATSIM-integrated pilot auth with rank, hours, and fatigue tracking
Maintenance-check schedules (A/B/C cycles) wired into every aircraft
The Challenge

Skybus needed a single operations hub where pilots could log in, see live airspace conditions, review their personal flight history and stats, book and fly routes, file PIREPs (pilot reports), and interact with the broader airline structure — all wrapped in a dark, aviation-grade UI that felt more like a real airline dispatch tool than a hobby site.

Our Approach

We shipped Pathfinder — a dark-themed crew portal built on the phpVMS framework (Laravel + MySQL under the hood) with deep customizations on top of a custom theme layer. Features include pilot auth with VATSIM integration, an operational weather brief widget, live NAS (National Airspace System) delay monitoring, a pilot profile system with rank/fatigue tracking, fleet pages with A/B/C maintenance check schedules, PIREP filing with route maps and ACARS data capture, and a private admin section for crew scheduling and human resources.
